Spring Cleaning Can Benefit You

Yikes! It’s time to clean out that storage unit!

It’s that time of year again: time for Spring cleaning. Okay, so maybe that was April. I never said I wasn’t a procrastinator. In any case, there’s no time like the present — and I know it’s time for me to kick it into gear and get my place cleaned up.

Or is it? Really, I’m all about coming up with reasons why I don’t need to clean. I mean, if the wind brought the dust in, it should bring it back out again, right? If you can’t see it, it’s not dirty… And why bother putting those clothes away when you’re just going to take them out and wear them again, you know? They look just fine laid neatly over the arm of the couch, don’t they? Sure they do. Besides, it’s way more fun to be out driving around, visiting with friends, and enjoying the Spring weather. That’s good enough justification, isn’t it? Just smile and nod, okay?

Maybe I’m a lost cause. Or maybe I need to call in an expert to whip me into shape. So I got in touch with DeAnne Wilfong, who has helped more than 300 people achieve their “rightsizing” goal since 2011. She is also an instructor who teaches courses for the Community Colleges of Spokane and for Smooth Transitions of Spokane about decluttering, downsizing, organizing, and even Spring Cleaning for Fun and Profit. Fun — I’m not so sure about that — but profit? Now she’s got my attention.
