“What normal person decides ‘I think I want to live in Hawaii’ and then ends up dancing on cruise ships?” I was asked — by Brandon Finley of Cusick. Now, keep in mind, he’s not talking about going cruising and doing line dancing or something. Brandon’s talking about being a professional hula dancer, paid to dance on cruise ships as part of the entertainment crew.

That gig is just one of many things that makes Brandon interesting. For a time, he was also a bill collector. Now, before you “boo” him — you need to know that he was a collector with a conscience. “It was horrible,” Brandon admitted. “… people don’t know that [businesses] have to accept whatever you’re paying — I’d get old people on the phone — you know they’re on Social Security. I would ask them ‘what can you afford?’ because I found in that job if you work with them instead of demanding, people are more willing to do this.” He was very successful in helping people make payments because he let them know they could pay as little as they needed to. “I brought the money in, I just didn’t do it [the company’s] way,” Brandon said.

You may get the impression that when Brandon does something, he does it all the way. And you wouldn’t be wrong. Many of the things he sets out to do seem to blossom into something bigger. Most recently, he’s been focusing on beading and basketry — and buyers from around the world…
