They say that Sasquatch activity tends to pick up in the warmer months, but I don’t think anyone was anticipating what’s about to happen in Chewelah. Sasquatch is going to make an appearance in a major way — major motion picture way, that is.
Driven by a team that has garnered awards and extensive credits in the film industry, the movie Sasquatch is going to be a slick production. And, it’s going to be filmed in and around Chewelah.
“We asked ourselves, ‘What is a story that we could tell that highlights the Northwest, that references all the things that we liked as a kid and got us interested in telling stories’ and we landed on the idea of Sasquatch. You have Harry and the Hendersons which is a comical take on it, but it’s really surprising to me that we haven’t had a family adventure movie about Sasquatch in the vein of Goonies or Jurassic Park,” actor and producer Justin Spencer told me in an exclusive interview.
While there have been some minor productions made over the past 20 or so years centering around Bigfoot, Justin feels that this adventure/thriller will have that little something extra: a great community behind it. “Where the movie takes place is a very important part of the story — like the Goonies or Dante’s Peak.
