Everyone loved Spuds MacKenzie because of that cute spot over his eye; Mr. Pish for that adorable one ear up, one ear down scruffy look; and Grumpy Cat for… well, looking grumpy. And now, I introduce to you… Miss Mooch.
A mix between Maine Coon, tabby, and Russian blue, Mooch is a 22-pound fluffball of a cat with a personality all her own. Folks in Chewelah are well-acquainted with Mooch; she’s known as KCHW’s mascot and as the cat who… gasp… bit the mayor.
As you can probably guess, Mooch is a pro at mooching, and very much enjoys treats and attention from anyone (mostly) who comes in to visit the radio station. She is also currently in charge of the station’s 50/50 Raffle, otherwise known as Mooch Money Madness. Proceeds from the raffle will be used to support the station, repair transmitters, and provide cat food for Mooch. Okay, not really cat food for Mooch, but we have to say that as part of her contract rider.
KCHW, also known as Northern Lights Public Radio, is Chewelah’s homegrown, volunteer-run, listener-supported radio station. The raffle is part of their annual fundraising campaign. Tickets are five dollars each and are available at Valley Drug Co., The…
